Beard balm is a commonly-used topical hair conditioner that moisturizes, softens, and helps temporarily style and control your beard hair. Most beard balms contain either shea or cocoa butter for softening, various oils for moisturizing, and a holding agent/protectant such as beeswax for styling and sealing in moisture.
Beard balm is often used in conjunction with beard oil to provide nutrients to both your beard hair and the underlying skin. Beard balm is applied by using the top of your fingernail to extract a small amount of product from the tin. Next, place the product in your palm and rub together with both hands. Use both hands to gently work the balm into your beard. You can also use a circular-shaped balm brush that works great at removing balm from the tin and applying it to your beard.
